Few people have gone from one to the other across this boards and i know they have had there reasons. I'm not after trying to open that exact debate. I read plenty of people unhappy with the APR tcu tune on the 6 speed when it was released, I believe all updated and fixed and now people happy. Trouble is I keep pondering on the new A45 but I hear there have been some teething issues on the A Will be tuning the DSG and Haldex unit very soon in the next week.

ASRmanSep 25, The stated max torque is Nm but based on several peoples experience it should be good for Nm without a TCU tune. Normally a stage 1 tune doesn't need a TCU flash. But the 4-pot engine in the S3 feels like it's loosing power in the higher gears but that's just the nature of a pumped up 4-pot rather than a similar power-wise 6-pot with a lower turbo boost.
One question though, have you unplugged your exhaust valves? People doing this have seen a slight drop of power in the higher revs and maybe this is easier felt in 4th and 5th gear than in the other gears.

The gearbox causes the timing to be pulled when launching causing the car to hesitate and lose power breifly. Im in desperate need of someone fixing that issue but so far my tuner has had that issue with all DSG maps, but not sure about APR as theirs has just been released.

It's like they are trying to cover this up. IMO the appropriate response to that sort of censorship is to raise the same issue on all the other places that potential APR customers visit like here so that people know what to expect if things go literally bang!
